Training Health Champions Who Can Continue the Work

Healing Hands Academy

A medical outreach may serve a community for one day. A trained health champion can continue protecting that community throughout the year.

The Healing Hands Academy is Mercytree’s healthcare training, education and capacity-building initiative. It equips community health workers, caregivers, volunteers, educators, youth advocates and local leaders with practical knowledge they can use to improve health outcomes.

Training is designed around the realities of underserved communities. Participants learn how to recognize health risks, promote disease prevention, respond to emergencies and connect vulnerable residents with appropriate care.

What the Academy Supports

  • Community health-worker training
  • CPR, first aid and emergency response
  • Maternal and newborn health education
  • Disease prevention and early detection
  • Nutrition, hygiene and sanitation
  • Chronic-disease awareness
  • Volunteer preparation
  • Medical-equipment training
  • Health advocacy and community education
  • Program management and data collection
  • Safeguarding and ethical community service
  • Digital health and technology training

Why Your Support Matters

Every person trained becomes a source of reliable health information within a family, neighborhood, or village.

Your contribution can provide instructors, training materials, CPR mannequins, digital devices, demonstration equipment, transportation, and professional development opportunities.

Supporting the Healing Hands Academy is not an investment in one workshop. It is an investment in people who will continue transferring knowledge, promoting prevention, and helping their communities respond to health challenges.

Partnership Opportunities

Hospitals, universities, training institutions, professional associations, and technology companies can sponsor training cohorts, contribute instructors, develop curricula, or provide training equipment.
