Diabetes & Hypertension

At MercyTree Foundation, we are committed to reducing the growing burden of diabetes and hypertension in communities across Sub-Saharan Africa. These conditions, often known as “silent killers,” can be prevented and managed through early detection, healthy lifestyle changes, and community awareness. Our program empowers individuals and families with the knowledge and tools to take control of their health.

Program Components:

  • Know Your Numbers – We provide free blood sugar and blood pressure checks to encourage early detection and regular monitoring. Knowing your health status is the first step toward prevention and effective management.
  • Healthy Lifestyle Clubs – Through guided clubs, participants learn practical skills in healthy eating, physical activity, and stress management. These clubs create supportive peer groups that help sustain positive lifestyle changes.
  • Community Screening Days – We bring healthcare closer to the people through workplace and market outreach. By offering on-the-spot screenings and education, we make it easier for communities to access preventive health services.

Our Impact:
By increasing awareness, promoting healthier lifestyles, and providing access to screening, the Diabetes & Hypertension Program helps prevent complications such as stroke, kidney failure, heart disease, and premature death. Together, we are building healthier communities and stronger futures.
